St Clair County Michigan -real estate tips for home buyers and home sellers - Quest Real Estate, Inc.

Below are some of the Real Estate questions buyers and sellers frequently ask us and answers to these questions. If you have a specific question concerning buying or selling a home,  click here  for answers.

Question:
Shouldn't I sell my home on my own so I can save the commission?

Answer:
Selling 'For Sale by Owner' is like representing yourself in court instead of having an attorney represent you.. It can be very costly and very, very stressful, and you may be putting your biggest asset in jeopardy!

Selling your home on your own can actually cost you more  money than if you listed your home with a Realtor. Normally a real estate company can get you more money for your home which actually offsets any money you would save by selling on your own.

My recommendation: List your home with an expert You'll get more money for your home, close sooner, and get to closing with fewer  problems!
Question:
Should I buy a home without a real estate agent representing me?

Answer:
Houses up 'For Sale by Owner' are typically overpriced by as much as $10,000 to $15,000 and sometimes even more. Even if you get them to come down you are not really saving any money. Also you lose all of the knowledge and protection gained by having an experienced real estate agent represent you.

My recommendation: Buyers Beware! Find an experienced Realtor to do your negotiating. You'll be glad you did!
